Updates

Emy playing the piano. She likes to stand on the bench and walk up and down playing all of the notes.
The boys just hanging out watching a Mario movie.
So I realize that I have been slacking in my posting lately. We have been busy, last weekend I got my wisdom teeth out and that left me down for a few days, but I am better now. In other news, Atlas wet the bed 3 nights in a row and Coen started taking guitar lessons last week. Brent is playing in a intermural basketball league and having a lot of fun and Emy has been growing up and getting unto whatever she can. We are loving life as usual and I am just trying to slow down time and cherish every minute that I have with my babies.

The things kids do

Tonight we went to get ice cream cones. Atlas decided to eat the cone first resulting in a big mess. He is one of a kind. He also told me this week about how ears grow. He said, "First you take a seed and put it in this side, the you take a seed and put it in this side, and then your ears grow. Then you take an apple and plant it and an apple grows."
Atlas' new thing is that he wants to be a firefighter when he grows up. Coen and Atlas were watching the garbage truck pick up our trash the other day (one of their favorite Thursday morning activities) and Atlas said something about being a firefighter to Coen and Coen said, "...but Atlas, if you are a firefighter you could die, and then I wouldn't have my best buddy anymore." It made me a little sad, but also touched at their special bond.
The kids bring us so much joy everyday. Emy is growing into a little girl, she loves getting her toenails painted and her favorite book is "Twinkle Toes" She loves to twirl around and dance and playing with her pink teddy bears and wrapping them up in her blankets.
Coen is doing amazing in school and getting ready to start taking guitar lessons. He continues to be a great big brother and playing with Atlas and Emy. He has such a special bond with each Atlas and Emy and they can't wait for him to come home from school so that they can play with him.
Brent has been a bit more stressed this semester because he has his anatomy/dissection class this semester. Overall, life is good, and I feel so blessed for every moment I get to spend with my family. I know that Heavenly Father loves me because he gave me such a wonderful family.

My Man

So, I started watching the new season of The Bachelor this week and I thought to myself that The Bachelor, Jake, has nothing on my man, Brent.... they are both pilots (Brent flying me to St. George on a date)...
...they both drive a motorcycle...
...they both like doing wood work, (the bookshelf that Brent just finished making for the kids books. He has also make me a table.)...
..but there's more. My Brent is also going to dental school and will soon be a dentist...
...and if that isn't enough, Brent is also in the Navy, he cuts hair, he is a great artist, he decorates cakes, he is a great cook, he is a handyman and our family mechanic, he is an interior decorator, he's a great father and husband, and he's handsome if I do say so myself. I feel like a pretty lucky gal to be his wife.Oh, and today is My Man's birthday, so Happy Birthday Babe! I love you and am so grateful for all that you do and the man that you are. On a side note, today is a snow day for Fayette County schools here in Kentucky. We woke up this morning and the roads were bare, there was no snow, school was canceled because there is going to be snow, the forecast is for an inch or two. I just think it is kind of funny because schools aren't canceled in Idaho until there is about 3 feet of snow and there is a threat of the roofs collapsing under the weight of the snow. It is definiatly a different world over here.

Growing Up

This week Little Em went into nursery all by herself and Atlas became a Sunbeam. I can't believe how fast they are growing up, it makes me a little sad.

Christmas

We had a very nice Christmas this year. It was just us in the morning. Brent flew to Utah for a day for his brother Cory's wedding and made it home on Christmas Eve. We dove around on Christmas Eve after dinner and looked at all of the Christmas lights on the houses. Christmas morning the kids woke up around 6:30 and came into our room asking if it was morning yet. We all went down and saw what Santa brought and then opened gifts. It was a wonderful relaxing day and in the evening our friends the Rhea's came over for dinner. Since then we have been relaxing and enjoying being together. We got a Wii from Santa and have been having a lot of fun playing together. We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.

Snow

We had a day with enough snow for the kids to play in and they had a lot of fun. The boys made snow balls and 2 snowmen. We got a picture of the first little one, but we didn't get a picture of the second bigger one. The snow didnt last long because the days following we had sunny weather with temps in the 50's and 60's. It is definiately going to take a while to get used to Kentucky weather.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MEAGAN!!!

So I don't often take the time to post, but since today was the last day of finals and my anniversary I figured why not. So this being our fourth anniversary I was supposed to give linens as a gift. We have been planning on doing our room but had no idea how. I decided to make a master bedroom makeover my gift. It was a lot of work and a great excuse not to study for exams, but it has been fun. Meagan helped with the painting and I think she went into panic mode, but as it all is coming together I think she is beginning to like it. Here are some photos. We plan on getting a new dresser to match the bed and get rid of the klunker tv (does anyone know of a cash incentive for that) and upgrade to a wall mounted flat tv in its place. Still missing a plant for the corner by the window, but it is a huge improvement from the white walls with candle suit on them!! Anyways, Happy fourth anniversary Meagan!
