Little Pee Dee Camping

Last weekend for Labor Day we got all packed up and headed up to Little Pee Dee Campground, a few hours north in South Carolina.  We met Brittany, Alan, Aubrey, and Drake there for some good outdoors fun!  We got in a little later than we wanted too so we had to set up camp in the dark, which wasn't much fun with all the bugs, snakes, and  frogs moving around.    The first night we had tinfoil dinners and went straight to bed.  Now, there are a few differences in camping in South Carolina as compared to, let's just say, Idaho.  The temperature is the main thing.  It was very humid and hot and you didn't get much of a break even at night.  Next is the bugs.....everywhere.  Then there is the snakes.  In Idaho we would go around catching snakes, South Carolina snakes are huge and a good majority are poisonous.  Luckily we only saw one snake and we think it was non venomous, but big enough to swallow my youngest whole.  The last major difference is the water.  We camped by a beautiful little lake but could not go in due to whatever large or small creature that we could come in contact with.  Overall, it was great to get outside, play some games, do some geocaching, roast some marshmallows, sweat by the campfire, and spend some good unplugged time together.
