It has taken me a little while to get caught up on the blog. This summer has been one of the most challenging times for our family, but it has also been full of blessings. Our move from North Carolina to Virginia was fast and crazy, we didn't really have a lot of time to even come up and pick out a house, so we found something online that looked like it would work and signed a lease. As we pulled up to our new place we were thrilled with its charm and size. We feel like we are in our own private paradise (including mosquitos, poison ivy, and wild raspberries). Right after we got here, we unloaded the truck and 2 days later Brent took Coen out to Utah where Coen spent most of the summer. We missed him terribly and couldn't wait for summer to end so we could be reunited.

For the 4th of July we went to the ward pancake breakfast, did some neighborhood activities, and went to a ward member's house for a backyard fireworks show. It wasn't quite the same as the Griffitts family slip n slide, but it was fun.
We didn't wait long before exploring Washington, D.C. The kids were thrilled to take their first ride on the Metro.
