Thunder Over Louisville

 Last Saturday we packed up the kids and followed my brother, Brad, and his family up to Louisville for the day.  We heard about Thunder Over Louisville, an air show and world famous fireworks show to kick off the derby festivities, and it was on our Kentucky bucket list.  We were a little bummed that the Navy and Airforce would not be sending their planes for the air show due to budget cuts but we were excited to go anyway.  We got there and found a place to sit.  It was a little crazy, there were carnival rides set up.  There were also tons of people.  They expect between 600,000-800,000 people.  The air show was pretty good with some impressive tricks and cool planes.  Even though it was late and the kids were a bit cold and tired we were so glad that we stayed for the fireworks show.  It literally felt like thunder shaking the ground.  We didn't get home until midnight and the kids made us pay for it the next day at church, but it was worth it.  Another Kentucky adventure checked off the list.

Coen was in charge of activities so he brought some paper and markers so the kids could make paper airplanes of their own.  They also had fun playing soccer and football.
